This blog publishes essays by members of the Tea and Tomes Society. The executive committee of the society will solicit and select essays (3,000 words max.) to be published on the blog. Our managing editor will copyedit and post the essays on our blog site. Blog entries will follow the notes-only version of the Chicago Manual of Style. The society is interested in receiving manuscripts on the following themes:

1. Essays exploring how nineteenth-century literature can help us understand the issues we face in the 21^st century (e.g., the lessons Harriet Martineau’s 1844 Life in the Sickroom offers for caregivers in our own time).
2. Reports detailing society outings (with photos).
3. First-person essays exploring the impact of nineteenth-century literature on the self (e.g., how Jane Eyre inspired a personal rebellion).
4. Original poetry, fiction, and drama with a neo-Victorian theme.
5. Reports from research collaborators on their meetings and work.
6. Conference papers.
7. Interviews.
8. Roundtables with three or more participants documenting their conversation on particular books, films, or themes (e.g., on the new Wuthering Heights film or The Other Bennet Sister) .

The executive committee will promote the blog on social media in order to ensure a broad readership.
