Ghosts and Gables Haunted Walking Tour
For our fall outing, Tea & Tomes took to the streets of St. Paul for a haunted and historic walking tour of Summit Avenue, exploring the stories—and a few ghosts—behind one of the city’s most storied neighborhoods. We ended the afternoon at the historic Commodore, once a favorite haunt of F. Scott Fitzgerald, for tea, conversation, and art deco.

We explored the world of James J. Hill and the people who lived and worked around him, while taking in the remarkable details of his St. Paul home—from stained glass and chandeliers to intricate hand-carved woodwork.

Where the Idea Began
Over tea at “The Lexington” in St. Paul, a small gathering of Victorianists became the setting for a much bigger idea. It was here that Dr. Alexis Easley first proposed creating a research society, planting the seed for what would become Tea & Tomes Society.
